BIKE - Most are using gravel bikes. You can use whatever bike you want since it is an open race. No e-bikes. No aero bars/extensions on drop or flat bars. Helmets are mandatory. No ear buds or headphones.
COURSE
The Creemore Springs P2A CENTO p/b Argon 18 & Starward Homes is a point-to-point approximately 110km long which begins at the Paris Fairgrounds in Paris, Ontario. CENTO means "one hundred" in Italian, which is the approximate distance of this race. It is
derived from Latin meaning a patchwork, like a quilt or jacket, or in
our case a patchwork of roads, trails, farms etc. For 2024 there will be changes in the first 1/3 of the course due to road closures caused by construction. We are still working on the route. The Old faves such as the McIntyre/Nixon Rail Line are still in. More mud at Mineral Springs Road Mud Chute and then to the mud pit of all time - the Powerline Road Mudslide. Just when you think you've made it you're hit with the equally legendary climb up Old Martin Road. You're only 3km from the finish but it is steep, rutted, wet and you're tired. If you can stay on your bike for the whole climb you're good. Even overall winners have had to run up this climb in the past. Challenge yourself on this true epic!

The 2024 P2A Cento course is still being worked on. As always there is the weather to contend with. We haven't had much of a winter and things are drier than usual but that can change. The distance might go up or down slightly depending upon conditions. Here are the percentages of surfaces that you will encounter. Unknown is definitely not pavement. These have been mapped on RidewithGPS. As always there is private property on the route. Due to trespassing concerns if we release the route it will be last minute. |

QUALIFICATIONS FOR FAST RIDERS & VIPS -
All ages (including VIPs) subject to the following criteria:
• Valid 2024 UCI racing license
• Valid 2024 Provincial race license - You need to have as a minimum a Challenge or Compete Level membership. Club Day Passes and Community Memberships are insufficient.
• Valid 2024 USA Cycling domestic license
• Valid 2024 Foreign license
• or Top 250 overall of the 2023 P2A CENTO.
START 2 - 8:05AM
QUALIFICATIONS - None
This Start will be for everyone else. Start 2 VIPs will be offered a front of corral start if they wish, but may start farther back if that’s where you are more comfortable. Slower riders should stage near the back of the start corral. This is self policed.

ARE YOU PREPARED TO BE PULLED FROM THE COURSE IF YOU ARE TOO SLOW?
If you are in doubt, then it is likely best to register in the shorter P2A CLASSIC or the P2A BRÈVE this year and try the P2A CENTO in the future. There are cutoff times and you will be pulled. Cutoff times and locations will be published prior to the race.

Award Ceremonies are at 3pm on race day at the Ancaster Community Center/Robert E. Wade Community Park. You or a representative must be in attendance to get your medal/prize. Medals/prizes will not be mailed.

IMPORTANT - Plate Pick-up on Saturday Only for the P2A CENTO UNLESS you registered for P2A VIP OR if you are a P2A Convenience Package purchaser. See our LOGISTICS page for details.
Plate/kit pick up - On Saturday you either have to be there in person or have a friend pick-up for you. You will need to show your ID in order to pick up your own kit. Friends will need to show an email from you indicating that they in fact do have permission to pick it up and they will need to show their ID. While you are getting your kit come & browse the P2A Expo!!
